LEICESTER’S Danny King hopes to have an ace up his sleeve for the visit of Wolverhampton and Grand Prix series leader Freddie Lindgren on Monday (7.30).
British champion King has been putting in practice hours in a bid to get dialled in at Beaumont Park having featured in just one home meeting, the defeat to Poole more than a month ago, to date.
The added understanding could prove crucial with Wolves number one Lindgren arriving fresh from winning this season's second world championship event in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday.
“My only home meeting was a while ago but I was lucky enough to get some practice in over the past week,” said King.
“It was just what I needed. You never like going to tapes on a track you feel unsure of but after doing plenty of laps and trying a lot of lines, I came away happy.
“It is one we are looking forward to. Hopefully, we can get a win over our local rivals because we know how much it would mean to everyone.”
The 2016 Elite League champions possess plenty of fire power, particularly after making some early-season alterations, but King reckons the Lions have every reason to feel bullish having pushed Wolves all the way at Monmore Green.
“They have strengthened their side so we will have to be on our game,” added King. “It will be tough but I have said all year, we can beat anyone on our own track.”
Both teams will be at full strength with Leicester set to track recent recruit Jason Garrity, a replacement for Kacper Gomolski, at number four.
